She sent me written text and images. We had a kick-off call to go over everything she wanted for her website. With everything I needed from her, I did my pre-work to prepare for her big day.

On her Superstar Day, I went straight to work. Since she wanted a basic website and wanted to keep it to one day, I started with a Squarespace template similar to her needs. I created a simple brand with a new logo, colors, and fonts to represent how she wants the world to see her. From the moment you book, you get my support with any questions you have and email reminders of each step of the process. You also get 30 days of support after your Superstar Day. I can answer questions about your project, give you video tutorials and noted screenshots, fix any technical issues related to the work I’ve done for you, and make minor edits.

The Process

The process is simple and streamlined to save time and money with maximum results!

  • 1. Book a Superstar Day

    Book your Superstar Day through my online scheduler & pay your 50% deposit. You will receive an invitation to your Superstar VIP Access where you will have guides, tutorials, and all the info you need to prepare for our day, know what to expect, and how to share your content with me. Your client support starts here. We’ve got this! Boom 💥!

  • 2. Pre-Work & VIP Access

    In the Superstar VIP Access: The Green Room, you’ll fill out a form(s), get instructions on how to share your assets, and book a Kick-Off Call to go over all the pre-work and any questions either of us have. With the information provided in your client pre-work and Kick-Off Call, I can do my pre-work to prepare your project for our Superstar Day.

  • 3. Your Superstar Day!

    With the pre-work done, we’re ready for our Superstar Day! I’ll check in with you at the start of the day. I’ll send you comps for approvals and occasional texts for quick questions that may arise throughout the day. With super laser focus, and no other distractions, I’ll work on your project for 7 hours. You’ll be in the loop and have a say while I’ll work to slay the day!

  • 4. 30-Days of Extra Client Support

    My support for your project will continue for 30 days after your Superstar Day! I can answer questions, send video tutorials, make minor edits, and fix any technical issues. I can also give you a free 60-minute live zoom tutorial related to your project such as how to use your website, Canva templates, or newsletter/email marketing templates.

FAQ

  • With Superstar Day rate, you get more than my hourly time, such as access to my VIP member area, training videos, a free Kick-Off Call, a free live tutorial, and 30 days of client support including minor edits to your project and fixing tech issues. I also do prep work prior to the Superstar Day to prepare your project. This could include researching your type of business, creating a mood board, searching for fonts, creating a comp of color pallets, searching for stock images, editing and optimizing images, etc.

    With a Superstar Day your project is scheduled so no one else can take your spot. There are email reminders and support. With the client pre-work, the Kick-Off Call and our communication on the Superstar Day, there’s no downtime waiting for either one of us to hear back from the other about questions or approvals.

    Hourly rates are nickled and dimed. Billing for hourly rate is also difficult to track and can be unpredictable. Project rates can be severely over-estimated or under-estimated. It’s difficult for the client to understand what the designer is actually doing and where the money goes. With Superstar Days you have frequent check-ins throughout the day so you are in the know of what’s going on and what’s getting accomplished for your money.

    With hourly and flat rates designers are often multi-tasking with many distractions from other clients. Losing concentration and focus causes small delays that add up to a lot! Productivity is lost trying to regain focus.

    With Superstar Days rates your projects are streamlined, efficient, and highly productive!!

  • As long as you have sent me all of your assets (written content, images, etc), you’ve filled out the Work With Me form(s), we’ve had a free Kick Off Call, and you could fit at least a quick check in 1-2 times during the day of the Superstar, we can make it work!

  • An integral part of Superstars Days being highly effective with fab results is the client pre-work and the designer pre-work. If you are unable to complete the easy to fill in form(s) and send me the written content and images needed for your project 7 days before your Superstar Day we may need to reschedule. Having the forms and content 7 days before the Superstar Day allows me to do the pre-work I need to do to be sufficiently ready for your Superstar Day.

  • Sometimes it’s hard to know how long things will take and sometimes we might not get to everything. Sometimes there are unforeseen snags. In this case we can book a Superstar Half Day to finish up.

  • Client Pre-Work

    The Client Pre-Work consists of 3 things: Forms, Share Content, and the Kick-Off Call.

    To create cohesive, effective, and stunning designs a designer needs to understand your business, what you want, and the outcome of the project. I’ve created easy to fill out forms to collect this information from you.

    In the form there are questions related to:

    • General business info (name, email, website address, etc)

    • The details of what you want me to want me to work on

    • Who your target audience is

    • Your brand, and if I’m creating one for you, what words describe how you want the world to see you, etc.

    • If you want a website with a shop or services there will be separate forms about your products, service, prices, etc.

    • That’s about it!

    If you have written content, images, graphics, or video that you want in your project, you will need to share those with me. We will use Google Drive and Dropbox for this. When you book a Superstar Day you will have access to instructions on how to do this as my support for you begins when you book, I’m here if you need additional help!

    The Kick-Off Call is an up to 60-minute call or Zoom. In this call you can explain in detail the needs of your project and what you want the outcome to be. You can ask me any questions you have and I can get my questions answered as well so I have a full grasp on your project’s needs.

    Designer Pre-Work

    The Designer’s Pre-Work consists of administrative work such as:

    • onboarding instructions and email reminders

    • client support with their pre-work

    • reviewing client pre-work forms and shared content

    It also includes creative and conceptual work including some or all of but not limited to the following:

    • research on your type of business, competitors, and goals of the project

    • mood boards

    • branding concept and strategy

    • creating design comps for branding or project

    • Color pallet development

    • Font search

    • Stock image search

    • Resizing, editing, and optimizing images for web (images need to be a certain size to load properly and quickly on websites)

    • Site Map for a website

    All of this is included in your Superstar Day!

Hey, hey!

Influenced by the vibrant world of pop art, Jen's designs are like a burst of color and energy. She loves mixing bright, eye-catching colors, playful patterns, and striking visuals to match her client’s unique brand personalities.

Jen launched her marketing and design career in New York City, where she fine-tuned her one-of-a-kind style while working on creative projects for the Wall Street Journal and Co-op City Times. As an Art Director at The Princeton Review, she unleashed her creative powers to add life and personality to the publication.

But deep down, she longed for something more - the breathing room of a less crowded address, a place to park her car, and even a cozy spot for a washer and dryer. Oh, and she wanted to feel the warm sand between her toes without having to take take the bus or ferry.

Obviously, it was time for Jen to move out of the concrete jungle.

In 2017, Jen took a brave leap and founded Jen Van Arsdale Designs. Today, Jen helps creative entrepreneurs find their unique visual identity. When she's not making brands look cool, she solves problems and plays with papers and patterns. Painting and using brushes are her jam. She's also crazy about dogs and cats.
